Pastor Matt serves as our bi-vocational Associate Pastor helping to coordinate the different ministry teams here at JMBC. Matt was born in Gadsden and his childhood was split between Etowah and Calhoun counties. He graduated high school from Jacksonville Christian Academy. He attended the University of Alabama and graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering and completed a master’s degree in Theological Studies from Liberty University. Prior to his current role he served as the student minister at JMBC for 8 years. While not serving at the church Matt works as a traffic engineer.
Pastor Matt and his wife Julie have been married for 12 years and have 4 children. He and the family enjoy spending time outdoors whether camping, hunting whatever is in season at the time, or fishing. Matt also enjoys playing guitar, helping their children develop their own musical skills, and wood working.
